Who this is for
Grant writing is specialist work. It starts with finding the programs that genuinely fit your organization, then confirming you meet every criterion before you invest time in applying. Then comes the part that decides the outcome: explaining your work clearly to a reviewer who has never met you and has only your application to go on. Miranda has done that kind of work for clients for more than two decades.
Businesses
Access government funding for innovation, hiring, export and growth. These programs expect financial projections, a clear technical case and evidence that your company can deliver. Your application explains what you do in terms a program officer can assess and approve.
Nonprofits and charities
Secure support from foundations, corporations and government, from short community grants to multi-year program funding. Your application shows funders precisely how you meet their criteria, the impact you have, and how their money will be used.
Public sector
Apply to provincial and federal programs with confidence, even when eligibility rules are strict and reporting is demanding. Miranda has done contract work for both municipal and provincial government and understands the accountabilities that come with public money.
Services and 2026 rates
Three steps, each available on its own. Most clients start at step one; if you already have a funder in mind, start at step two. Flat fees are quoted after an introductory call and priced by the scope of the work, whatever the size of your organization.
Step 1: Opportunity Assessment
Find the grants that fit your organization, with deadlines and a fit rating for each.
Focused (5–8 leads): $1,200–$1,800
Standard (8–12 leads): $1,800–$3,000
Comprehensive (15–25 leads): $3,000–$5,000
Delivered in 2 to 4 weeks
Step 2: Fit & Eligibility Review
Confirm you qualify before you invest time in applying.
Standard program: $500–$750
Complex program: $900–$1,500
Delivered in 3 to 5 business days. The fee is credited toward your application.
Step 3: Grant Application
A complete, submission-ready application, with every figure checked.
Short application: $1,500–$3,000
Standard program: $4,000–$8,000
Complex program: from $8,000
Delivered in 2 to 10 weeks, depending on the program
Monthly retainers from $1,875. Hourly work $125/hour. Fees in CAD, plus applicable taxes. Never a percentage of your award, in keeping with the Association of Fundraising Professionals Code of Ethical Standards.
The approach
A working news editor, Miranda applies newsroom fact-checking to every application.
- Every claim sourced. Statistics, outcomes and need statements are tied to a document you can produce if the funder asks.
- Every figure checked. Budgets, narratives and attachments are checked against each other and against your source data before submission.
- Your experts, interviewed. Miranda talks to the people who run the work, then sends drafts back to them to confirm accuracy.
- Deadlines planned backward. You get dates for every input needed, so nothing lands on the last day.
“Miranda is someone you can genuinely rely on. We’ve worked across multiple stakeholders, rounds of feedback, and tight timelines, and she has always approached the process with flexibility, professionalism, and a collaborative mindset.”

Terms
- Flat fees, never a percentage of your award, in keeping with the AFP Code of Ethical Standards.
- Work begins on receipt of a deposit; the balance is billed at agreed milestones.
- Timelines depend on receiving your materials by the agreed dates.
- Post-award reporting is quoted separately unless included in a retainer.
- Funding decisions rest with the funder, so no outcome can be guaranteed.

Questions
Why is the introductory call paid?
The call is productive time: Miranda reviews your situation and gives you a specific recommendation, not a sales pitch. If you go ahead, the full fee is deducted from your first invoice, so the call costs you nothing extra.
Will you work for a percentage of the grant?
No. Percentage and commission fees break professional ethics codes, including the Association of Fundraising Professionals Code of Ethical Standards, and many funders will not support organizations that pay them. You pay a flat fee for the work, agreed before it starts.
Can you guarantee we will get funded?
No one can. Funders decide based on their priorities, budgets and the other applications they receive. Grants can be competitive. This service makes sure you apply to programs you qualify for, with an application that answers every question clearly and accurately so you present the best case possible for the funding available.
What do we need to have ready?
Usually your incorporation or charity documents, recent financial statements, a project budget and the people who know the project. The Fit & Eligibility Review tells you exactly what a specific funder will ask for.
How far ahead of a deadline should we start?
At least as long as the timeline for your application tier, from two weeks for a short application to ten for a complex one. Book your call as soon as you know about the deadline.
